About

Passionate about Speech Therapy and Voice

Katelyn Swiader, M.S.Ed. CCC-SLP received her Master of Science in Education at Old Dominion University and Bachelor of Music from George Mason University. Katelyn has earned her Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech Pathology through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), has earned multiple certifications in several therapeutic techniques, and is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s SIG 3, a nationally recognized special interest group in voice and upper airway disorders. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, she has worked with both the pediatric and adult populations in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, out-patient offices, and private practice. In addition to her love of helping others through speech therapy, Katelyn has a long history as a performer and as a vocal instructor. She has sung professionally with touring opera companies and has performed in music programs in North America and in Europe. Katelyn has developed Sound Waves Speech Therapy & Voice LLC, not only to bring her passion for Speech-Language Pathology and voice together, but to provide a practice where she can deliver exceptional and personalized therapy to her patients, to help them reach their own personal goals. When she is not in a speech therapy session, teaching voice, or instructing one of our parent and child music and language classes, you may find Katelyn performing with a rock band, singing at church, or spending time walking nature trails with her children, husband, and adorable basset hound.
